Questions about starting therapy?
Starting therapy often comes with practical questions. Below, you’ll find information about virtual sessions, insurance, what to expect, and how we might work together. You’re also welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation if you would prefer to talk through your questions.
Getting Started
-
I am currently accepting new clients for virtual weekday appointments and may be able to schedule an initial appointment within approximately one week. Availability can change, so the best way to learn about current openings is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
-
You can tell me generally what you are looking for, ask questions about my approach, and learn about scheduling, payment, and next steps. We can then decide whether scheduling an initial assessment makes sense.
-
The first session gives us more time to discuss what has brought you to therapy, what has been difficult, relevant parts of your history and current life, and what you hope to gain from therapy.
You will also have an opportunity to ask questions. You do not need to tell your entire story at once.
-
The initial appointment is usually 60–90 minutes. Ongoing sessions are 45 minutes and generally begin weekly. Some clients move to every other week when that feels appropriate.
What to Expect from Therapy
-
I provide individual online therapy for adults in Massachusetts who are still managing daily life but finding that worry, low mood, stress, or changing responsibilities are taking more out of them than they used to.
My background includes women’s and perinatal mental health, but you do not need to be pregnant, postpartum, a parent, or a woman to work with me.
-
No. My background includes several years in women’s and perinatal mental health, but these are only some of the concerns I work with. You do not need to be pregnant, postpartum, a parent, or a woman to work with me.
-
Yes. I am bilingual and bicultural and provide therapy in English or Spanish.
You are welcome to use the language that feels most comfortable and natural for you.
Appointments and Availability
-
All sessions are currently offered virtually.
-
At this time, I am only able to provide weekday daytime appointments.
Fees & Insurance
-
I accept several plans through Alma and Headway. Because eligibility varies by plan, please view the current list on the Fees & Insurance page or contact me so we can identify the appropriate platform for your coverage.
-
I work with Alma and Headway to manage insurance eligibility, billing, and claims. Once we identify which platform works with your plan, they can provide an estimate of your expected cost. You may also contact your insurance company directly to confirm your benefits.
-
The current self-pay rates are:
Initial assessment, 60–90 minutes: $200
Regular therapy session, 45 minutes: $150
15-minute consultation: Free -
I understand that plans can change. Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $75 fee.
